If they can afford a Pro camera and another they can probably afford a mid range $1300 body too. one they could leave in the glove box all the time, or put in jacket pockets. I have noticed quite a few saying they will use the XE4 as a 2nd body e.g. It would also make a better 2nd camera for Pro users who want something small and light. The X Pro Mini would be an exciting innovative camera and if they start it that way, people can't complain about experimental features. XE is now THE budget line that caters to some XE people and newbies. ![]() Whilst keeping a premium price (maybe $1300?). The X Pro Mini could be a premium line that caters to all left EVF fans. If it doesn't it will probably still be very popular with old XE fans and some X100V fans who don't need to upgrade next time, but want an ILC with a similar weight. If something works it gets promoted to the main camera next time around. ![]() Next time they can try something else, maybe monochrome only. Plus this would be a good place to try new things like the inward LCD on the 3. But smaller and lighter by removing some features e.g. Solution: make an X Pro Mini series from now on. That thing alienated half of the fanbase. They had far more outrage when they announced the X Pro 3 LCD. The XE4 is almost nothing like the line was originally and it's fair enough if Fuji needs to do that for profits. I agree with DPReview that they made the X-E4 too minimalist. There was no engineering need to remove this stuff. Many people in the market for this now lowest cost Fuji ILC $849 (both XA7 and XT200 discontinued) are going to go with lenses like the old 27, the 15-45, the 16-50, the 50-230, the 35mm f2 XC. And we dont have to look far, the nikon Z6 only has 2 dials and for many years professionals had to press a button to change iso on other cameras too. Ive been shooting for years and that has never happened. I think in a professional shoot the likelihood of you missing a shot due to poor low light focusing is greater than you missing a shot because you didn't turn your dial fast enough. And even if you dont have an aperture ring, press the front dial to toggle between aperture and iso. I use 27 and 15-45 on my xe3Īll the pro lenses do have one and thats my point. Lots of the smaller lenses don’t have an aperture ring. Its just a much more competent camera.Īnd for those complaining about ergonomics, You have the aperture ring on the lens, the shutter dial on top and the front dial for iso. I would honestly use an XE4 for a professional gig faster than i woulf an XE3. ![]()
